First Chemo

So Juan and I are at the Oncologist office. Again I have this sense of calm over me that all will be ok. Then the nurse comes in and goes to access my port. Now my nerves are going. The first nurse tries to access the port and cant. So the nurse calls in another nurse to access my port. Lisa the new nurse comes in and gets it. The Dr walks in and we start talking about some questions I had. 1. Can I still drink my red wine? Yes only one glass. 2. Should I take my dip off my nails? No 3. How soon will I loose my hair? Within the 2 session. So now it is time to start but first the trail team want to talk to me about this new medicine to help with nausea. I didn’t want to do any trail after what my Mom and Dad had gone through but somehow I said yes. Then the Dr. walks in again and says the Pet Scan shows no sign of spread. Juan and I just looked at each other and we were so relived. Finally some great news. The Cancer is only in my breast…..

Now we start the infusion of chemo. the first one was red and would take 30 minutes to administer. I sat and prayed again. I asked for God to help me through this next part and to make me strong and help me fight this. Then came the second chemo, this one took one hour and half. Meanwhile others came and left and I was there receiving what the Dr. said a very strong chemo combo. Finally all done and we are off to go home.

Thank You GOD!
