Today I go in for a lumpectomy. I had previously had a mammogram and ultra sound of my right breast. I was asked for past mammo’s so that they could compare. So I gave them 2011, 2013, 2015 records. After they received the past records they concluded that I only needed to keep an eye on it. I decided it was time to get a second opinion as you can know see the lump when I remove my bra. I called my primary and asked for a specialist and was told again not to worry about it as the Radiologist said to just keep an eye on it. I said ” No, I need this looked at” So they referred me to a surgeon, Dr. Joan Iacobelli. Dr Iacobelli was awesome from the first time we meet. She saw the lump and agreed that we needed to do a biopsy. So she preformed a core biopsy and removed 5 samples. After waiting two weeks the test came back “A typical”. Meaning its not normal but its not bad so more test are needed. And so here I am being prepped for a lumpectomy. My nerves are going as I don’t do well with anesthesia. Dr Amanda, the anesthesiologist  came in and spoke with me about my concerns and she assured me that she would take great care of me. About an hour later I am in the recovery room getting ready to go home. All I was told was that it was pretty large. Overall the staff and Dr.’s where amazing. Now we wait for the lab results…….
